A REDEEMED FAMILY

“I pray that they may all be one as you father are in me and I in you that they may be one in us that the world may know that you sent me.”  John 17:21

You may already know that a redeemed family takes on the identity of the Godhead in their expression of healthy family. This is systematic and progressive. This is God’s plan to cover the earth with His glory because He has the power and opportunity to express Himself. Through yielded individuals, like you and me, He changes our identity. Then, through His redeemed family, He changes the whole way the family operates, making it or us a perfect reflection of the health of the Godhead.

Remember, the Godhead is the template. The Godhead is the prototype family in the earth that existed before humans. And that family, the Godhead, is the pattern by which God gives grace to the church to become just like them as we see in the prayer in John 17:21: “I pray that they may all be one as you father are in me and I in you that they may be one in us that the world may know that you sent me.” Focus on the last phrase of that passage: “...so that the world may know that you sent me.” What a powerful statement that is. Jesus is staking all His credibility on whether we get it right.

If I were Jesus, I would have not prayed that. I would have said something like, “When the world discovers who I am, then they will know that You sent me,” but He doesn’t say that. He’s got more confidence in you than you can imagine. He has more confidence in us. He has issued the church grace to become as healthy as the Godhead! Jesus put all His eggs in the church basket. He’s going to stake all His credibility as to whether He was sent from the Father on whether we display the true nature of His church: a healthy family.

And the dynamic of the relationship between Jesus and His Father is a whole lot of mutual joy, mutual love, and delight. Their relationship is the healthiest that has ever existed, and that is the pattern we are empowered and given grace to function in.

We declare to you today that God’s grace is being given to you so that you can display your true nature in Christ and live in ever-increasing health as a family. You are empowered to love like Jesus and to receive the Father’s love and delight for you.
